still alive

Hello all!!! Still alive here, even if I don't always look it! For those of you that I don't see on a daily basis, surgery went well! Dr. Lunt did a fabulous job. I am now in menopause, but not any meaner than I ever was, maybe just a little warmer now. I have only had minor hurdles at this point, am healing nicely, and pain free for the first time in 5 months. It has all been easier than I ever expected.
I am going a little stir crazy at this point. I can't wait to get back to normal and be able to do all of the things that have been forbidden for the last 4 weeks. My husband and children are getting tired of lifting and cleaning for me, and I like to do it myself.
I get to go back to work after the first of November. I am really excited, I get to go back as a Customer Service Manager. I have waited a while to get this promotion. The first couple weeks should be interesting. I still get pretty tired by mid-afternoon, and I have pretty much lain around for the last 4 weeks. So wish me and those around me luck. Hehe.
Well, it is coming up on 8:30 p.m. and I am ready for bed. Sorry I have not posted in so long, I will try to do better from now on!!

Surgery day

My surgery date is finally set. September 29th will be the big day! I can't wait to have this done and start healing. Today was my biopsy, it was awful!! I don't ever want to have another one of those done. There was no pain relief involved today, most unpleasant.
So now we just wait. Clean house, get things organized, and just wait.
I want everyone to remember that after the 29th when you see my kids in funny socks, or with weird hair, or clothes that look a bit off, grandma and dad are in charge and I am not! My kids like to see what grandma will let them wear when she is in charge. I am just glad that she will be here to help. The kids are glad because they think grandma is "fun", they don't realize that she is the one who helped make me what I am today (she knows all the tricks).

Gone for so long

Things here are insane! Let's see, what has happened since the last update? School has started. Kayla is in 4th grade and loving it, Gabriel is in kindergarten and loving it. We have survived all of that at this point. It has been busy, but that isn't anything new.
I am going to have surgery soon. Yay! I can't wait to have it done and over with. I will be having a full hysterectomy. There will no longer be a womb at my inn! My mom will be here for a while to help take care of me, the kids, and the house. It probably won't be her dream vacation, but she is more than willing to come and revel in the insanity. Recovery time is something that I do not look forward to, but will just have to deal with. Life will be much better after all is said and done.
Gabriel turned 5 on August 21st. He is very proud of that. He is still waiting for a pocket knife. HAH fat chance of that if I have any say!
Kayla is still reading anything she can get her hands on. She is doing great in school. She still refuses to have a haircut!
Hope evryone is well!

Gabriel is ginormous now

Yesterday I took Gabriel to his 5 year old/kindergarten check-up. He now weighs a whopping 39 pounds(fully dressed of course) and he is 44 1/4 inches tall ( yes the 1/4 inch counts). It may not seem like much for someone who will be 5 in a little over a month, but it is huge for a 2 pounder. He was hilarious at the appointment. He did really good on all counts. He had a BIT of a meltdown when it came time to get his 4 shots, but he was o-kay by the time he got to the treasure chest for his prize. He still absolutly HATES when the nurses put on the rubber gloves. He has issues with that. He of course went through his list of "ailments" with the DR., I believe I have the only almost 5 year old hypocondriac. He wanted to be carried most of the day because I " let that lady stab him in both legs" and he " has a hard time walking". It only worked a little bit. I think the shots were almost as hard on Kayla and Stella as they were on him. Both girls covered their ears, rocked, and tried not to cry while he was having his shots. He actually took a nap today because " yesterday was so hard" on him. He is still my nutty kid. I am just so glad and lucky to have him here and healthy. It wasn't always a given.

Stadium of fire recap

Stadium of Fire was great. The girls and I had an awesome time. I liked the Blue Man Group. and the girls were in awe of Miley Cyrus. Jacob and Gabriel were less than a block away watching the fireworks, and they loved it. It was a tiring trip because it was so fast, and I had to be at work on Saturday night shortly after we got home, but it was worth it. It may make future fourth of july's pale in comparison, but it will be a great memory for all! Hope everyone else that went had as good of a time as we did.

STADIUM OF FIRE

On the 4th of July we ( Kayla, Stella, Ivy) will be going to Provo to the Stadium Of Fire. Those of you that know what that is will immediately understand why the girls can barely contain themselves. For those of you that are not " in the know", it is where they will get to see Miley Cyrus (aka Hannah Montana) perform. They are absolutely beside themselves over this one. They have been on thier best behavior since they found out that I scored tickets for the show. If I say " I need..." they are right next to me asking what I need, and willing to do my bidding. Not that I would EVER capitalize on that, bit it is good to know that I could if I was that sort of person.
Jacob and Gabriel are going to Provo with us, but not to the show. Jacob is o-kay with the plan, but Gabriel is upset that he won't get to see Hannah Montana because " she is beautiful" and "my best girlfriend". They will be able to see the fireworks from the hotel, and there is a toy store close by. I think they will do just fine without us girls for a while.
Hopefully I will have new pics to put on here soon. We are just waiting for my picture lady to get them done and to us. Hope everyone is well!!

chaos reigns

Once again, chaos reigns at the Musser household. We have had one of "those" weeks. I figure at this point it can only get better. We will be replacing a fuel pump in one vehicle, a catalytic converter in another, Jacob's back is getting better, and I have a wicked cold today. Very busy week, but things are starting to work out. At least my kids are healthy at this point. That makes me happy! Oh, obviously my Internet is working again after being messed up for 5 days.

On a different subject, Gabriel informed me today that he will be going to high school tomorrow. I'm not sure how he came to that conclusion, but whatever. We will all wish him luck with that.

Kayla has decided that she requires perfume now that she is nine. Apparently 9 is some sort of magical smell good number. I say again, whatever.

Sometimes I wonder how my kids came to be so nutty, but then I think about all the family on both sides, and I realize they come by it naturally. So, no mystery there.

Friday the 13th

Friday the 13th is a very scary day. I don't care if you are superstitious or not. I sat down to pay some bills today and I'm pretty sure a poltergeist popped out of my checkbook. I ran away screaming but I just kept hearing a ghostly voice saying " you'll never get away, I will find you wherever you go"! If thats not enough to make me wet my pants, I still had to actually pay the bills! I'll tell you right now, I did NOT want to go back to my desk. I finally sat back down and got it done. As I was finishing the last one I heard the creepy voice tell me " I'll be back"! It sounded like a pretty serious threat to me. I'm thinking about calling an exorcist in to rid my checkbook of demons, but they would probably want to be paid in the end, so I think I will just ignore it until this time next month. So this is a warning for all- be very careful when you open your checkbook to pay bills. You too may have a poltergeist in there. Take care

Still alive, somewhat functioning

Today I am still alive and somewhat functioning. I happen to be running on five and a half hours of sleep, but I make dark under eye circles look good. Very few people can pull that off. I worked last night at Walmart, then I got up bright and early with 6 kids! So far they are being nice to me and each other. The things we go through to be rich and famous. Sometimes the price of fame is pretty high. I am looking forward to having a shower today. Everyone keep your fingers crossed that it will happen.

Kids are still fighting, but no bleeding at this point. I have managed to get this thing set up! Yeah for me! I am pretty proud of myself at this point. I have pulled out some of my hair, but I started with a lot so it's all good! Let me know what you think!!

This should be interesting

This should be very interesting. I am going to see if I can manage to set up this blog, before the kids tear up my entire house! I don't know if it can be done or not. So far today we have had 2 biting issues, 6 "I'm so hungry" issues, 1 scratching issue, and a whole lot of "that's my toy"," You can't have it", and my personal favorite " I'm telling!"! So wish me luck and let's see if I can actually post more than this first one!!
